Lionel Messi, the winner of the last year, wins again this year the prize of the best player of the world 2010, leaving behind his team-mates, Andrés Iniesta and Xavi Hernández (the other nominees).
Lionel Messi In 2010, broke the barrier of 150 goals for Barcelona, he has scored his 100th also Spanish League goal for the club, It was the best scorer of the Spanish league with 34 goals. Maked a domestic five hat-tricks, with Messi hitting four goals also in the second leg of Barca's Champions League quarter-final win over Arsenal in April.
In June he pulled on the captain’s armband in the South Africa 2010 group game against Greece, becoming Argentina’s youngest ever skipper in a FIFA World Cup match in the process. He failed to score in the showpiece competition.

Marta the Winner of a record four FIFA Women’s World Player awards from 2006 to 2009. She returned this year to win for the fifth time, and leaving behind: Fatmire Bajramaj (Germany) and Birgit Prinz (Germany)...

Saving plenty of magic for A Seleção, Marta starred in November’s South American Women's Championship, with Brazil winning all seven of their games to qualify in style for the FIFA Women’s World Cup Germany 2011™.
Marta scored 9 goals in seven appearances at the aforementioned South American Women's Championship held in Ecuador, a performance that earned her the competition’s top scorer and best player awards.

FIFA Men’s Football Coach of the Year

José Mourinho the Portuguese coach is a contentious figure about whom it is hard to remain indifferent. Son of a Portuguese international goalkeeper, Mourinho enjoyed a modest playing career from 1980 to 1987, before deciding to try his hand at the tactical side of the game.
José Mourinho is the first coach of the world to win this award, leaving behind: Josep Guardiola (Spain) and Vicent Del Bosque (Spain)...
On the last season, José Mourinho won Serie A once again, as well as winning the Italian Cup and, most notably, the Champions League. The Portuguese supremo became the first man to achieve such a feat with an Italian club and only the third to win Europe’s premier trophy with two different teams.
At the end of May 2010, he took over at Real Madrid, setting himself the goal of winning the championship in a fourth different country.

The process has already started and the early results have been promising, with the runners-up spot at the Algarve Cup, and a string of friendly wins against Korea DPR (3-0), Canada (5-0), Australia (2-1) and Nigeria (8-0).

FIFA Presidential Award

One of South Africa’s struggle stalwarts who fought for the emancipation of South Africans during the era of apartheid, Archbishop Desmond Tutu has been honoured with the prestigious FIFA Presidential Award at the 2010 FIFA World Player of the Year Gala.
Tutu, a Nobel Prize winner, is mentioned in the same breath with some of South Africa’s most important leaders, and his contribution to the fight against apartheid brought him international acclaim. He continued to play a meaningful role in South Africa in the post-apartheid democratic country, and during South Africa’s bid to host the 2010 FIFA World Cup™, Tutu was part of the South African delegation in Zurich. His picture with fellow Nobel Prize Laureate, Nelson Mandela holding the FIFA World Cup trophy became iconic, and Tutu went on to become one of the most passionate supporters of his country as they hosted a successful 2010 FIFA World Cup – the first one on the African continent.
Last year, the Presidential Award was awarded to Queen Rania of Jordan for the commitment she showed to the 1GOAL: Education for All initiative.

FIFA Fair Play Award
Haiti’s U-17 women’s national team |
This year’s FIFA Fair Play award went to Haiti’s U-17 women’s national team, who carried on bravely despite the worst kind of suffering, loss and pain following the devastating earthquake of January 2010.
For their courage and strength, the Haitian girls were congratulated as heroes, for theirs was a triumph that transcended any football pitch. They are all worthy winners of the 2010 FIFA Fair Play award.

Millions of football fans from all over the world voted from the shortlist containing wondergoals from Hamit Altintop, Matthew Burrows, Linus Hallenius, Lionel Messi, Samir Nasri, Neymar, Arjen Robben, Siphiwe Tshabalala, Giovanni van Bronckhorst and Kumi Yokoyama for the FIFA Puskas Award 2010.
However, the 'most beautiful goal of the year' as voted for on FIFA.com by over one million fans went to Turkey’s Altintop for his fantastic goal in the UEFA EURO 2012 qualifying match between Kazakhstan and Turkey played in Astana on 3 September 2010.
